About The Teacher

My name is Jessie Fishel and I am the resource teacher at Prairie Creek Elementary School.  The 2013-2014 year is my second year at Prairie Creek Elementary working in grades 2nd- 5th grade.
I graduated from WSU in the fall of 2004 with a degree in Elementary Education.  Over the years I have as a resource teacher, para educator, kindergarten teacher, and substitute teacher.  This fall marks the 10th year I have worked as an educator.  I have my Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and an endorsement in English as a Second Language (ESL) and adaptive special education.

I have been happily married to Chase Fishel for three years and we have two children, Matthew 2 years old, and Sarah born this summer.  Family life is busy for us as we learn all about raising young children.

Working with Special Needs families is a passion of mine.  Learning Disabilities is extremely common in my family, as most members of my family and extended family have either been diagnosed with a reading disability or should have been diagnosed with a disorder.  Having ADD, ADHD, and / or OCD is just a common trait among everyone.
